It`s just as magical as the name sounds. This walled garden is just up the street a ways from my hotel. I`m going to have to go back as the few pictures that I took don`t do it justice at all. Also, next time, I doubt I`ll be hurrying off to catch a movie. So far, this is the quietest place that I have visited while in Kathmandu. There`s always something happening on the streets of Thamel whether the regular traffic, loud music, the street dogs or someone who likes to sing into the wee hours of the morning. This garden recently underwent a six year facelift to restore it from its previously overgrown state. There`s a building that houses the before and after pictures behind this fountain. This garden features a large lotus pond which is supplemented by numerous fountains and relaxing sitting areas. There is even a large bamboo swing which I didn't have the heart to try out.
